About the position

The Direct Operations Case Coordinator role at ICF involves leading a team of Case Coordinators who work directly with care provider staff and federal staff to ensure the safe and timely release of unaccompanied children in ORR custody. This position is crucial for developing and maintaining a national case coordination program that provides child welfare-based recommendations, particularly focusing on children with special needs and placement recommendations. The role requires a strong understanding of child welfare best practices and the ability to maintain positive relationships with clients and colleagues, as well as bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure appropriate Case Coordinator coverage at all provider sites within the assigned geographical area.
  • Provide supervision and operational oversight of the assigned Case Coordinator team.
  • Offer guidance and technical assistance related to Case Coordinator duties, ensuring compliance with program policies and high standards of care.
  • Conduct regular site visits at provider sites for oversight of Case Coordinators.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for government and care provider staff at care provider sites.
  • Elevate individual case issues to ORR staff related to clinical, safety, and well-being concerns.
  • Raise operational concerns to ICF project leadership.
  • Perform other duties related to case coordination goals for unaccompanied children's safe and timely release.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in social work or a related social science discipline and 5+ years of relevant experience, or a Bachelor's degree with 8+ years of experience, or a non-qualifying bachelor's degree with 10+ years of experience.
  • 1+ year of experience working with immigrant youth and families.
  • 1+ year of supervisory experience.
  • 1+ year of experience reviewing case files and assessing/documenting information from various sources.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish.
  • Ability to secure Tier 2 Security Clearance.

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge of migrant/refugee issues related to unaccompanied children and sponsor families.
  • 3+ years of experience working with immigrant youth and families is preferred.
  • Education and/or experience in applying race equity, diversity, and inclusion strategies in human services.
  • Working knowledge of challenges related to unaccompanied children's placement and release.
  • Experience working for a refugee program.
  • Experience in mental/behavioral health for children or juvenile justice programs.
  • Prior work experience in a consulting environment.
  • Experience using MS Office suite.
