About the position

ICF is seeking Direct Operations Case Coordinators to lead a team of Case Coordinators who work directly with care provider staff and federal staff to facilitate the release and transfer of unaccompanied children in ORR custody. This role involves developing and maintaining a national case coordination program that provides child welfare-based recommendations, ensuring the safe and timely release of children, and addressing the needs of those with special requirements. The position emphasizes transparency and respect for the children and families involved, requiring strong leadership and communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure appropriate Case Coordinator coverage at all provider sites within the assigned geographical area.
  • Provide supervision and operational oversight of the assigned Case Coordinator team.
  • Offer guidance and technical assistance related to Case Coordinator duties, ensuring compliance with program policies and high standards of care.
  • Conduct regular site visits at provider sites for oversight purposes.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for government and care provider staff at assigned sites.
  • Elevate individual case issues to ORR staff regarding clinical, safety, and well-being concerns.
  • Address operational concerns to ICF project leadership.
  • Perform other duties related to case coordination goals for unaccompanied children's safe and timely release.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in social work or a related social science discipline and 5+ years of relevant experience, or a Bachelor's degree with 8+ years of experience, or a non-qualifying bachelor's degree with 10+ years of experience.
  • 1+ year of experience working with immigrant youth and families.
  • 1+ year of supervisory experience.
  • 1+ year of experience in reviewing case files and assessing information from various sources.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish.
  • Ability to secure Tier 2 Security Clearance.

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge of migrant/refugee issues related to unaccompanied children and sponsor families.
  • 3+ years of experience working with immigrant youth and families.
  • Education or experience in race equity, diversity, and inclusion strategies in human services.
  • Working knowledge of challenges related to unaccompanied children's placement and release.
  • Experience in mental/behavioral health for children or juvenile justice programs.
  • Prior work experience in a consulting environment.
  • Experience using MS Office suite.
