About the position
The Direct Purchasing Manager at Android Industries is responsible for leading the purchasing team and managing the procurement of parts for vehicle assemblies. This role focuses on developing supplier relationships, ensuring quality and timely delivery of materials, and achieving cost targets. The manager will also drive succession planning and employee development within the team, while advocating for the company's core values.
Responsibilities
- Lead and develop a high performing purchasing team focusing on evaluating potential and driving succession planning.
- Build a model to drive negotiations and sourcing strategy for direct materials.
- Ensure delivery timing as established during the sourcing process and program requirements.
- Manage team on supplier emerging significant issues (supply issues, quality, cost, environmental issues, etc.) and drive internal risk mitigation.
- Actively manage supplier relationships and performance through key performance metrics, plant audits, and technical reviews.
- Be an advocate for Android core values to the market.
- All other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or another related field.
- 1-2 years' experience working in a Purchasing manager role.
- 5-7 years' experience working in a Purchasing role.
