About the position

Friends4Life (F4L) is seeking dedicated and compassionate Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to join our team in Sandy, Utah. This role is essential in providing support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in a residential setting. As a DSP, you will play a crucial role in helping clients lead fulfilling lives by assisting them with daily activities and encouraging their independence. Our residential services operate 24/7, offering flexibility in scheduling to accommodate both full-time and part-time positions. You will assist them in achieving their personal goals as outlined in their Person Centered Support Plan (PCSP). This includes helping with daily needs such as nutrition, hygiene, and socialization, as well as engaging them in enjoyable activities both at home and in the community. The role requires punctuality and reliability, as our clients depend on your support. You will also be responsible for cooking and preparing meals, cleaning living spaces, and supervising clients during medication administration. Responsibilities

  • Must be punctual - showing up to your shift on time is very important.
  • Cook and prepare meals, clean apartment (kitchen, bathroom, living areas).
  • Help clients with their laundry.
  • Assisting individual clients in reaching their desired goals, as detailed in their Person Centered Support Plan (PCSP).
  • Assisting our clients in engaging in fun and fulfilling activities at home and in the community.
  • Assisting individual clients in meeting their daily needs, including (but not limited to) nutrition, hygiene, exercise, communication, socialization, (as necessary), etc.
  • Supervising clients as they self-administer medication.
  • Tracking client progress and document findings every shift.
  • Transporting clients in personal or company vehicles.
  • Following all health and safety protocol required by Friends4Life and the state of Utah.
  • Helping maintain the condition of program sites for our clients who use them (via cleaning, tidying, etc).
  • Supporting and upholding client legal rights by observing the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
  • Become properly trained and certified as the job requires.

Requirements

  • Valid state ID and social security card.
  • Age 18+.
  • Pass a criminal background check.
  • Must be able to cook healthy meals for up to 3 individuals at a time.
