About the position

The Direct Support Professional (DSP) position at Empowerment Life Services, LLC involves providing care and support to foster children aged 6-17 in a group home setting. The role focuses on meeting the physical, emotional, educational, and spiritual needs of the children, many of whom may have behavioral or mental health challenges due to past trauma. The DSP will work primarily on weekends and may also have evening and overnight shifts, ensuring a safe and nurturing environment for the youth.

Responsibilities

• Dispense medications
• Teach youth life skills
• Assist with meal preparation alongside youth
• Complete paperwork and documentation
• Redirect and de-escalate client behaviors
• Transport youth in company van
• Maintain cleanliness and upkeep of the home
• Monitor youth activities

Requirements

• Must be 21 years or older
• High School Diploma or G.E.D.
• 1 year experience working with youth
• CPR/First Aid Certified
• Valid driver's license with no DUI and minimal offenses
• Must possess Fingerprint Clearance Card
• Pass pre-employment physical and physical abilities test
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs
• Must pass drug test
