About the position

The Certified Direct Support Professional II (DSP2) role at Redwood Family Care Network involves assisting adults with developmental disabilities in their daily lives. This position is crucial in providing person-centered care and support, ensuring that clients receive the necessary assistance with their dietary, hygiene, grooming, and dressing needs. The DSP2 will also engage clients in various activities to promote their well-being and development, while adhering to the organization's mission of delivering high-quality services in a safe and supportive environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist adults with developmental disabilities in daily living activities.
• Provide complete care for dietary, hygiene, grooming, and dressing needs.
• Redirect client behaviors through activities such as walking, reading, games, and computer projects.
• Outline and prepare daily routines for clients as per their Individual Program Plan.
• Assist clients with bathroom needs and change undergarments or clothing as necessary.
• Prepare daily meals and assist with clean-up tasks.
• Transport clients in company vans to and from their homes or facilities when required.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Must have CPR and First Aid certifications.
• Must possess DSP 1 and DSP 2 certificates.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience supporting individuals with developmental disabilities or mental illnesses preferred.
• Valid in-state driver's license with a clean driving record (no more than 2 points in the last 3 years).
• Ability to lift 50 lbs.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with individuals with Autism or challenging behaviors.
• Completion of RBT certification within 6 months of hire.
