About the position
The Direct Support Professional/Caregiver at Elizabeth Manor is responsible for providing compassionate care to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. This role involves assisting consumers with daily activities, ensuring their well-being, and promoting their independence in a supportive environment.
Responsibilities
- Assist consumers with daily activities such as meal preparation and personal hygiene.
- Provide assistance with medication management.
- Accompany individuals on outings in the community.
- Transport consumers to programs, work, and other activities.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Valid driver's license in good standing
- Good physical health, verified by a health screening
- First aid and CPR certification from a recognized agency
- Non-Violent Crisis Intervention/Prevention Certification
- California clearance or criminal record exemption as required by law.
Nice-to-haves
- 1 year of caregiving experience (preferred)
- Experience with intellectually and developmentally delayed individuals.
