About the position

The Direct Support Professional (DSP) at Community Interactions, Inc. is responsible for providing quality, person-centered services to individuals with developmental and physical disabilities. This role involves mentoring and supporting clients while ensuring their health, welfare, and safety according to Individual Service/Support Plans (ISPs). The DSP works in a supportive environment that promotes work-life balance and flexible scheduling, making a significant difference in the lives of others.

Responsibilities

• Provide quality person-centered services to customers.
• Mentor and support individuals with developmental and physical disabilities.
• Ensure health, welfare, and safety according to Individual Service/Support Plans (ISPs).
• Meet service expectations of assigned customers and families, as well as funders and licensing entities.
• Perform direct supports, including lifting and other physical activities.
• Conduct general housekeeping, shopping, and office duties as needed.
• Drive individuals served from program sites to community activities.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 2 years of experience working with persons with Autism preferred.
• Valid driver's license with a good driving record.
• Ability to train and coach assigned consumers under the direction of the Clinical Team.
• Ability to interpret, execute, and enhance Support Plans to accomplish goals defined by the Clinical Team.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Proficiency with computers.
• Ability to meet both the physical and essential requirements of the position.
