About the position

The Direct Support Professional (DSP) at REM Community Services, part of the Sevita family, plays a crucial role in providing community-based services for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. This position focuses on helping participants grow, learn, and live fulfilling lives by developing meaningful relationships and supporting their personal and developmental goals. The DSP is entrusted with the responsibility of assisting individuals with daily activities, personal hygiene, and behavioral challenges, ensuring they are integrated into the community and can enjoy their favorite activities.

Responsibilities

• Help individuals grow, learn, and live well.
• Develop meaningful relationships with the individuals served.
• Support participants with developmental goals such as budgeting, exercise, and nutrition.
• Assist individuals with personal hygiene and daily living activities.
• Support individuals with behavioral challenges and complex needs.
• Encourage community involvement and participation in favorite activities.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Valid Driver's license with one year of experience (not including permit).
• Strong communication skills.
• Ability to adapt and multi-task effectively.
• Teamwork and time-management skills.
