About the position

Quality Angels Human Services is seeking compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to support individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities. The role involves assisting with daily living activities, promoting independence, and ensuring the overall well-being of residents. DSPs will engage individuals in meaningful activities and accompany them on community outings, fostering a positive and inclusive environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide support and assistance to individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities in their daily activities.
• Assist with personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and hygiene.
• Prepare and serve healthy meal options, considering dietary needs or restrictions.
• Administer medications as directed and monitor individuals' health conditions.
• Support individuals in maintaining a clean and safe living environment.
• Engage residents in social, recreational, and educational activities that promote personal growth and well-being.
• Accompany individuals on community outings such as shopping, dining, or attending events, ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience.
• Encourage and support the development of social skills, independence, and self-advocacy.
• Document daily activities, behaviors, and any changes in individuals' conditions.
• Foster a positive, respectful, and inclusive environment for individuals.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience in a similar role is preferred but not required.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to handle physical demands such as lifting, bending, and assisting with mobility.
• Patience, compassion, and a strong desire to make a positive impact.

• Experience as a DSP or caregiver (2 years preferred).
