About the position

The Direct Support Professional (DSP) at ResCare Community Living plays a vital role in providing compassionate care to clients. This position is essential for fostering positive relationships and ensuring the safety and well-being of individuals in a group home or home-like setting. DSPs are expected to perform personal care tasks and encourage self-help activities, contributing to the overall quality of life for those they serve.

Responsibilities

• Performing personal care tasks, including feeding, ambulation, and medical monitoring.
• Assisting with fostering positive relationships between individuals served and their housemates.
• Ensuring client safety and maintaining a safe environment.
• Encouraging self-help activities.
• Accompanying clients to scheduled appointments.

Requirements

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Must have a valid driver's license.
• Ability to work in a group home, home-like setting.
• Ability to communicate (verbally and written) with all levels of personnel, internal and external.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in a caregiving role is preferred but not mandatory.
