About the position

The Direct Support Professional (DSP) role involves providing personal care services to clients under the supervision of a Registered Nurse or Therapist. The DSP is responsible for assisting clients in maintaining their personal comfort and performing various supportive tasks as directed. This position requires a compassionate individual who can follow care plans and implement positive behavior supports effectively.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care services to clients as directed by the Registered Nurse or Therapist.
• Assist clients with range of motion exercises and ambulation.
• Implement positive behavior supports as part of the care plan.
• Report any changes in client condition to the supervising nurse or therapist.
• Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients.

Requirements

• Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age.
• Minimum of six (6) months work experience in a supervised setting, preferably in a health care facility.
• Successful completion of a formal certification training program and competency evaluation.
• Ability to read, write, and follow a written Plan of Care.
• Good interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively.
• Current valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

• Knowledge and experience of behavior management techniques.
