About the position
The Direct Support Professional role involves assisting developmentally disabled adults with daily living activities both in their homes and within the community. This position is crucial for enhancing the quality of life for clients by providing support in various personal care tasks and ensuring their safety and well-being.
Responsibilities
- Assist developmentally disabled adults.
- Support daily living activities in the home and community.
- Assist the client with shopping, cooking, and providing transportation.
- Assist with bathing and other personal hygiene needs.
- Assist with laundry and follow the cleaning instructions for the home.
- Administer medication and monitor the individual taking the medication.
- Complete and post a shift report that describes what happened on each shift in detail.
- Report wrong doings or mistreatment of an individual.
- Work with any individual in ULS's program as long as it is within the time frame of the shift being worked.
Requirements
- Valid Driver's License
- Valid First Aid Certification
- Experience in Senior care
