About the position

The Direct Support Professional (DSP) role at Lock Hearts Home Care Solutions involves providing essential care and support to individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities in a residential setting. The DSP will assist clients with daily living activities, ensuring their comfort and well-being while fostering a supportive and engaging environment. Responsibilities

• Work as part of a team of direct support professionals.
• Assist individuals with activities of daily living such as bathing and grooming.
• Perform light housekeeping duties.
• Plan and prepare meals for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
• Arrange transportation and plan social events for clients.
• Provide companionship and emotional support to clients.
• Communicate effectively with staff, volunteers, and families.
• Maintain strict confidentiality of all client information.
• Adhere to all policies and procedures.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Availability to work every other weekend.
• Clean BCI background check.
• Valid Driver's License with less than 6 points.
• Personal vehicle with auto insurance preferred but not required.
• Experience working with people with developmental disabilities for at least 1 year.

Nice-to-haves
