About the position
The Direct Support Professional (DSP) role at Merakey involves providing essential support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The DSP will work under the supervision of a House Manager and is expected to create a positive impact in the lives of those they support.
Responsibilities
- Assist individuals with daily living activities such as housekeeping and laundry.
- Encourage, mentor, and coach individuals to achieve their goals.
- Perform duties in accordance with appropriate procedures under the supervision of the House Manager.
- Observe and report on residents' responsiveness and living area conditions.
- Participate in periodic meetings to discuss progress and activities.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Must possess a valid driver's license.
- Verifiable High School diploma/G.E.D preferred.
- Desire to help others reach their fullest potential.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience in a home health aide setting or school setting working with people who have intellectual and developmental disabilities.
