About the position
The Direct Support Professional role is focused on providing compassionate care and support to adults with disabilities in a residential setting. The position involves creating a safe and therapeutic environment while encouraging individuals to develop essential daily living skills. The schedule is flexible and may vary based on client needs, primarily covering night shifts from 11:00 PM to 7:00 AM.
Responsibilities
- Provide a safe, clean, comfortable, and therapeutic living environment for residents.
- Encourage, guide, and train individuals in developing daily living skills.
- Demonstrate and coach individuals using approved techniques and strategies.
Requirements
- Compassionate and dedicated attitude towards supporting individuals with disabilities.
- Ability to work flexible hours, primarily during night shifts.
- Background check, drug test, and child abuse clearance required.
- Physical examination and copies of driver's license and MVR needed.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience in a similar role or in caregiving for individuals with disabilities.
- Knowledge of approved techniques and strategies for supporting individuals with disabilities.
