About the position

The Direct Vertical Market Sales Representative is responsible for generating new business in designated vertical markets such as multi-family housing, hospitality, schools, athletics, country clubs, and corporate fitness facilities. This role involves proactive sales activities including cold calling, networking, and managing sales orders, all while adhering to company policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Travel within your designated territory hunting for new business opportunities
  • Manage assigned vertical market channels within designated territory
  • Make outbound sales calls and visits to prospects for new direct business
  • Conduct Matrix Fitness showcase tours for existing and potential customers
  • Meet monthly goal for number of prospective customer site visits and new opportunities volume
  • Manage incoming sales orders in conjunction with our inside sales team
  • Regularly provide management with accurate reports
  • Meet monthly, quarterly and annual sales goals within territory
  • Work with other sales representatives within the territory
  • Follow all related procedures & policies
  • Attend periodic industry trade shows which usually require travel

Requirements

  • Minimum high school diploma or equivalent plus additional training or education such as an associates degree with combination of experience required
  • Bachelor's degree preferred in relevant field
  • At least one year of outside sales experience with a proven track record in new business development
  • Proven track record of meeting sales quotas
  • Sales forecasting and reporting capability required
  • Sales success while working remotely / independently / autonomously

Nice-to-haves

  • Relationships within the multi-family / developer / property management field preferred
  • Relationships within schools / universities preferred
  • Proficient in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Internet Explorer required
  • Software experience with CRM (SFDC), Auto Sketch or similar preferred
  • Drivers license required with acceptable motor vehicle record for extensive domestic travel
