Sodexo Corporate Services Division is seeking a Director of Facilities for a Corporate Service located in Portland, Maine. This role is pivotal in managing total integrated facilities, which includes overseeing both hard and soft services, landscaping, grounds maintenance, predictive and preventative maintenance, and property infrastructure utilizing skilled trades. The Facilities Director will be responsible for the hiring, training, and supervision of staff, and must possess strong financial acumen to effectively manage departmental budgets and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations. In this position, the Director will direct preventative maintenance and reactive repair maintenance issues, ensuring that all operations are conducted safely and efficiently. The role also involves overseeing the maintenance of property infrastructure, including cleaning and upkeep of buildings, roofing, and parking lots. The Facilities Director may also manage renovations and construction projects, ensuring that all work complies with building codes and regulations. The successful candidate will act as a liaison between the client and regulatory agencies, manage all tradespersons and employees within the Facilities Department, and communicate effectively with various stakeholders, including contractors, architects, and engineers. The Director will monitor the quality of work, prepare and manage departmental budgets, and maintain a variety of records and reports. Establishing a safe work environment through safety audits and training is also a critical aspect of this role.
