About the position

The Director, Actuarial & Analytics for Agribusiness at Travelers is a leadership role responsible for overseeing actuarial functions, including pricing, profitability reporting, and strategic initiatives within the Agribusiness unit. This position requires collaboration with various departments and managing a small team to drive analytical insights and business outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Lead actuarial functions for the Agribusiness unit, including pricing and profitability reporting.
• Collaborate with Underwriting Leadership, Product Management, and Finance to implement business initiatives.
• Manage a small team and oversee talent development processes.
• Conduct actuarial and analytic analyses to solve business problems.
• Communicate effectively with staff, peers, and senior leaders regarding project results and business initiatives.
• Drive strategic initiatives and process improvements within the unit.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a STEM-related field.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience performing quantitative analysis.
• Strong understanding of insurance products and industry.
• Demonstrated ability in actuarial and quantitative analysis and statistical concepts.
• Management experience and excellent communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

• Associate Actuarial Credential preferred.
• 7+ years of quantitative analysis experience.
• Strong PC skills (MS Office) and programming skills (e.g., SQL, SAS).
