About the position

The Enterprise Director, Sterile Processing is responsible for leading and managing the operational, financial, and programmatic activities of the sterile processing department across the OU Health system. This role involves setting and monitoring goals aligned with the organization's strategic objectives, providing guidance to facility managers, and ensuring high performance in sterile processing operations.

Responsibilities

  • Interpret the impact of organizational changes and develop strategies for successful implementation.
  • Incorporate OU Health's vision, mission, and values into goals and programs within Central Sterile.
  • Develop and manage operational initiatives with measurable outcomes.
  • Formulate objectives, goals, and strategies collaboratively with stakeholders.
  • Prepare and deliver reports to operational leadership on progress toward annual goals and objectives.
  • Provide leadership and oversight of sterile processing operations at multiple sites.
  • Develop and implement integrated operational programs, policies, and procedures.
  • Establish annual financial goals and monitor financial data for decision-making.
  • Create and present business plans, justifying variances and analyzing cost benefits.
  • Engage leadership and staff in continuous improvement of systems and processes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in applicable field required; Master of Healthcare Administration (MHA) or Master of Business Administration (MBA) preferred.
  • 5 to 7 years of progressive leadership experience required.
  • Minimum of ten (10) years of experience in a Sterile Processing Department supporting a large operating room environment.
  • Technician certification from CBSPD or HSPA required; advanced certifications (CHL, CIS) preferred.
  • Knowledge of maintenance and sterilization of medical supplies and equipment.
  • Effective customer service skills and ability to work under pressure.

Nice-to-haves

  • Advanced certifications in sterile processing (CHL, CIS).
  • Experience with high volume operating room environments.
