About the position

The Director of Advancement Services & Technology at Simpson College plays a crucial role in leading the operational infrastructure within the Office of College Advancement. This position is responsible for data-informed strategy development, CRM management, data reporting and analytics, and ensuring data integrity and security. The Director will mentor and collaborate with colleagues while spearheading major initiatives to support the advancement division's goals.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the CRM software (Slate) administrator, integrating it with other systems across the institution.
  • Produce reports and dashboards to guide data-informed decision making and support strategic initiatives.
  • Supervise Gift Administration, ensuring proper policies for donor and gift record management.
  • Oversee Stewardship to uphold donor intent and ensure accurate fund management.
  • Supervise Prospect Research to match donor opportunities with institutional needs.
  • Provide documentation, training, and support related to CRM/Slate for end users.
  • Ensure compliance with advancement policies and stay current with industry best practices.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated understanding of best practices within a successful Advancement Office.
  • Five years of successful experience working with CRMs, preferably in Higher Education.
  • Ability to plan, organize, and implement programs, requiring a Bachelor's degree and relevant experience.
  • Well-developed problem-solving skills and the ability to analyze components logically.
  • Self-motivated leader with experience in developing and leading high-performing teams.
  • Proven collaborator with a track record of creating relationships across cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to handle sensitive, confidential information with discretion.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Slate CRM in a higher education context.
  • Knowledge of IRS guidelines for charitable giving and CASE standards.
