About the position

The Director, AMER Strategy & Operations at Amazon Web Services (AWS) is a senior leadership role responsible for developing and executing strategies that drive business growth and operational excellence. This position involves working closely with the VP AMER and regional leadership to analyze data, create forecasting models, and implement business processes that optimize performance across various functions. The role requires a hands-on approach to managing a large, multi-layered organization, ensuring effective communication and collaboration with stakeholders to achieve organizational goals.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute the strategy for AMER operations.
  • Continuously evolve forecasting models and analyze historic results.
  • Act as a trusted partner to the VP AMER, making data-driven recommendations.
  • Manage the business processes, systems, reports, and strategies to optimize functions.
  • Drive the management cadence of the business, including reporting mechanisms.
  • Lead improvements and updates to reporting tools and processes.
  • Manage regional targets, goals, and headcount plans.
  • Hire and develop talent across the organization, coaching senior direct reports.
  • Present findings and strategies to senior AWS leadership and influence stakeholders.
  • Identify critical internal and external trends to drive operational excellence.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Computer Science, or related field.
  • Significant experience in a senior leadership role in Finance, Sales Operations, or Business Development.
  • Experience leading large, complex organizations.
  • Proven experience with CRM systems, sales compensation, revenue reporting, and forecasting.
  • Expert level in Excel and data query tools.
  • Strong business-process design experience.
  • Excellent analytical skills and sound business judgment.
  • Ability to operate in a fast-paced, lean organization.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
