About the position

ITT is seeking an HR Director to serve as the primary strategic HR Business Partner for the Control Technologies business unit. This role is pivotal in developing and executing HR strategies that align with the business's strategic plans and enterprise initiatives. The HR Director will work closely with the Control Technologies Leadership Team and will report to both the CCT VP of HR and the VP of Control Technologies. Located in Orchard Park, NY, this position requires a proactive approach to consulting with clients and recommending HR solutions that enhance critical business outcomes. The HR Director will be responsible for implementing talent and Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) strategies to cultivate a robust talent pipeline, ensuring that the organization has the right talent at the right time to achieve its goals. A strong emphasis will be placed on building and developing the next generation of talent across the business. The role also involves providing coaching, guidance, and training to enhance the leadership capabilities of the leadership team, including succession planning. In this fast-paced, matrixed environment, the HR Director will leverage their influencing skills to drive results and will utilize their organizational development expertise to shape the company culture, promote organizational growth, enhance team effectiveness, manage change, and foster leadership development. Analytical and critical thinking skills will be essential for developing solutions to various business and people-related issues. The HR Director will also partner with Centers of Excellence (COEs) to support enterprise-wide people priorities and initiatives, and will advise managers on complex employee relations issues such as discipline, coaching, and performance management.

Responsibilities

  • Develop strategic HR plans in support of the business strategy and overall enterprise initiatives.
  • Implement talent and DEI strategy to grow the talent pipeline and ensure the organization has the right talent at the right time.
  • Build and develop the next generation talent pipeline across the business.
  • Provide coaching, guidance, and training to enhance leadership capabilities, including succession planning.
  • Ensure tactical execution of strategic HR plans.
  • Leverage influencing skills to drive results in a fast-paced, matrixed environment.
  • Utilize organizational development expertise to shape culture, drive growth, and enhance team effectiveness.
  • Apply analytical and critical thinking skills to develop solutions to business and people issues.
  • Partner with COEs to support enterprise people priorities and initiatives.
  • Advise managers on complex employee relations issues.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field.
  • 12+ years of relevant progressive experience in Human Resources.
  • Minimum of 7 years of people management experience.
  • Strong knowledge of laws and regulations related to HR.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively influence, lead, and transform organizations.
  • Understanding of key business and financial drivers with a proven track record of delivering HR results.
  • Multi-functional experience in a matrix environment, supporting multiple functional groups and employee populations.
