About the position

The Director, Anti-Fraud and Corruption Program is responsible for developing and implementing policies and procedures to prevent fraud and corruption within the International Rescue Committee (IRC). This role involves working closely with various teams to ensure compliance and effective use of donor funds, while fostering a culture of ethical behavior across the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Formulate and provide expert guidance on prevention, risk mitigation, and improving internal policies and controls.
  • Oversee anti-fraud/anti-corruption compliance and stay updated on global legal developments.
  • Regularly review and update anti-fraud/anti-corruption policies and protocols.
  • Lead fraud and corruption risk assessment activities and develop risk mitigation strategies.
  • Partner with various teams to incorporate lessons learned from risk events and investigations into the anti-fraud/corruption program.
  • Analyze investigation outcomes and audit findings to develop recommendations for risk mitigation.
  • Offer expertise on IRC's due diligence processes to support compliance efforts.
  • Develop training and discussion content on anti-fraud and corruption for local compliance teams.
  • Enhance local compliance capacity by advising local teams and office leaders.
  • Develop and deliver tailored training on anti-fraud and anti-corruption topics for global audiences.
  • Liaise with donors regarding IRC's anti-fraud/corruption program and compliance activities.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in anti-corruption compliance, forensic fraud analysis, or related field.
  • University degree in law, finance, or accounting, or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Proven experience working within international NGOs or international development organizations.
  • Demonstrated success in building compliance programs and global initiatives.
  • Strong analytical and data management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Fluency in English; proficiency in Arabic, French, or Spanish is an advantage.
  • Appreciation for diversity as it affects culture and human behavior.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
