About the position

The Director of Asset Management at WattBridge Energy is a pivotal role that serves as the primary liaison between the Portfolio Management team and PROENERGY's Operations & Maintenance (O&M) team. This position focuses on optimizing asset performance, executing risk management strategies, overseeing capital planning and budget management, and ensuring operational efficiency. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining compliance, enhancing reliability, and achieving commercial objectives while fostering a culture of innovation and teamwork.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a dedicated team to achieve business, operational, and maintenance goals.
  • Partner with O&M to align on goals and objectives, ensuring compliance with portfolio P&L objectives.
  • Establish a culture of innovation and continuous improvement within the team.
  • Oversee environmental and NERC compliance for the portfolio.
  • Collaborate with multi-functional plant teams including finance, engineering, and human resources.
  • Develop annual Plant Operating Plans (POP) in collaboration with O&M.
  • Review and improve work management practices and establish KPIs with O&M.
  • Work with a newly formed team to implement key business and project planning processes.
  • Identify and establish a five-year major maintenance and capital project portfolio.
  • Oversee execution of plant improvement projects and budget development.
  • Drive implementation of Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for operational improvements.
  • Collaborate with O&M to manage generation portfolio risk and develop performance reporting.

Requirements

  • Ten years of power plant management experience.
  • Proven experience in managing annual O&M budgets of $25M or larger.
  • Demonstrated track record in improving plant profitability.
  • Experience managing multiple operating assets with high performance.
  • Proven experience in risk-based capex planning and project execution.
  • History of developing people and teams effectively.
  • Experience with a portfolio of 10+ operating units.

Nice-to-haves

  • Clear and concise communication skills, both orally and in writing.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite programs including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
