About the position

The Director, Assistant Chief of Staff role at GAF is designed to enhance the effectiveness of the CEO, President, and Chief of Staff by managing daily and long-term projects across various business lines. This position involves close collaboration with executives to ensure smooth operations, oversee critical projects, and facilitate communication within the organization. The role offers a unique opportunity to expand business acumen while contributing to the company's strategic goals.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the development and implementation of critical projects on behalf of the Executives.
  • Provide hands-on support to ensure that large-scale, cross-functional projects continue to move forward, both on-time and on-budget.
  • Triaging and prioritizing projects and workstreams on behalf of the Executives and ensuring open lines of communication with relevant stakeholders.
  • Work with the company's communications team to develop coherent and compelling narratives regarding the key attributes driving the company's business and goals.
  • Filter and summarize daily news and other content for the Executives.
  • Manage and develop contacts/executive relationships.
  • Prepare and prioritize upcoming commitments for the Executives.
  • Develop agendas, executive briefing materials, and decks for meetings, events, and travel.
  • Develop background materials in coordination with functional and business unit leaders.
  • Attend calls and meetings, capturing major takeaways and ensuring appropriate follow-up.
  • Supervise administrative support, managing a complex and dynamic calendar for the Executives.
  • Manage the CEO's inbox to prioritize important messages and reduce unnecessary emails.
  • Coordinate travel, including developing itineraries and scheduling meetings with critical participants.
  • Plan and coordinate executive offsite retreats and key cross-company conferences.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Arts/Science required.
  • 7+ years of experience in a dynamic and fast-paced corporate environment.
  • Uncompromising ethics, integrity, and discretion.
  • Exceptional public speaking, verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively with and influence senior executives.
  • Exceptional project management and process development abilities.
