About the position
The Director of Automation Engineering at CEVA Logistics is responsible for leading a team of automation engineers to support business growth through the preparation of proposals for new business opportunities, contract renewals, and the re-engineering of current operations. This role involves collaborating with various stakeholders, developing vendor relationships, and implementing automated solutions to enhance operational efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Lead a team of automation engineers to support proposals, renewals, and re-engineering activities.
- Hire, train, and upskill engineers.
- Collaborate with Design Solution engineers, Pricing Analysts, Business Development teams, and Program Managers to prepare and submit proposals.
- Develop relationships with automated equipment vendors and evaluate them for certification.
- Support the implementation of automated operations and equipment as needed.
- Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities within the Solution Design team.
- Incorporate green initiatives into proposals when appropriate.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering.
- 10+ years of experience in engineering, selecting, and implementing distribution centers with automation equipment.
- Knowledge and experience in distribution center operations.
- Experience and relationships with automation equipment vendors.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to analyze complex problems and develop appropriate solutions.
