About the position

The Director of Blockchain Data Engineering is responsible for leading a team focused on developing blockchain data solutions tailored for the financial services industry. This role emphasizes improving data quality and implementing sound engineering principles while overseeing blockchain, database, and ETL development, testing, and deployment.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team in the development of blockchain data solutions.
• Oversee database and ETL development, testing, and code deployment.
• Collaborate with analysts and business partners to understand business problems and design effective solutions.
• Participate in innovation days, code, and design reviews, exploring emerging technologies.
• Ensure alignment with technology blueprints and best practices.

Requirements

• B.S. degree or higher in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
• Substantial knowledge of Blockchain and crypto-based analytics in a financial services environment.
• 7+ years of recent experience with relational database technology, data engineering, and ETL/ELT skills.
• 7+ years of professional experience with Ethereum, Bitcoin, Solana, or other blockchain platforms.
• Strong understanding of cryptographic principles and blockchain protocols.
• Experience with Linux shell scripts and job scheduling tools like Control-M/Autosys.
• Ability to develop Data APIs to support varied application requirements.
• Experience with AWS services, Snowflake, and Python.

Nice-to-haves

• Exposure to GitHub and Jenkins.
• Knowledge of Finance and Investing domains.
• Experience with diverse blockchain and distributed ledger implementations like Corda, Hyperledger Fabric, Polygon, Solana, Stellar.
