About the position

The Director, BPO Strategy & Governance at Oscar Health will lead a team of Program Managers focused on foundational and future initiatives within the internal BPO division. This role is critical for maintaining high operational standards and delivering exceptional service to both internal and external partners. The Director will oversee the execution of key deliverables, manage cross-functional work streams, and build scalable operating models for external partnerships, all while reporting to the Sr. Director of Shared Services & Transformation.

Responsibilities

  • Shape the vision and strategy for the BPO Strategy & Governance team around operationally sound principles and guidelines.
  • Provide effective direction and inspiration to all levels across Oscar Operations.
  • Responsible for ongoing career development of direct reports while maintaining culture and employee satisfaction.
  • Utilize project management tracking techniques and tools and adjust approach based on measured outcomes across simultaneously operating projects.
  • Provide ongoing consultation, reflection, and business process adjustment support to operational counterparts and vendors alike.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience with direct BPO interaction or vendor specific experience.
  • 10+ years of experience with Procurement or Contract Management functions.
  • 8+ years of experience working with teams in multiple locations and within multiple disciplines.
  • 8+ years of experience managing and scaling large projects and business processes.
  • 8+ years of coaching and developing project-based teams.
  • 6+ years of experience in LEAN, Six Sigma, Project Management or other improvement methodologies.
  • 6+ years of experience using data and metrics to drive appropriate root cause analysis and action planning.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in Healthcare, Contact Center, or related field with a BPO presence.
  • Operational improvement certification - Green or Advanced belt certification.
  • LEAN or Project Management certification.
