About the position

As the Communications Director for Brand Marketing Content at McKinsey & Company, you will lead the global content and storytelling strategy, planning, and operations. This role is pivotal in ensuring that we share the best stories of our people in action, our client impact and capabilities, and our firm's positive societal impact. You will be responsible for shaping our reputation and strengthening client development through compelling content that highlights our innovation and mission to create positive, enduring change. In this position, you will oversee a global team of creative professionals and manage multiple programs, including McKinsey's brand content strategy and operations, brand news and copy production, organic social media, and client impact storytelling. Your leadership will be crucial in elevating our brand presence and reputation globally. You will take a data-driven approach to understand the needs of our audience and drive innovation across our content mix, formats, channels, and tone. You will set the agenda for our broader marketing content approach and collaborate on flagship global campaigns to enhance market presence and positively shape familiarity and consideration of McKinsey. Additionally, you will lead the brand news and copy program, which serves as the editorial engine for various marketing platforms, ensuring that all content reflects McKinsey's commitment to sustainable and inclusive growth. Your responsibilities will also include directing our organic social media program, crafting client impact stories, and engaging colleagues across the firm in our brand content agenda. This role requires strong collaboration skills, exceptional writing and storytelling abilities, and a passion for making a positive global impact.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Minimum of ten years in content development, strategic and creative communications, social media, and brand leadership on a global scale.
  • Demonstrated expertise in external corporate communications, including social media, media relations, events coverage, and agency management.
  • Proven leadership of a diverse and inclusive team of communications professionals.
  • Strong collaboration skills, with a history of working effectively with executives and clients to develop impactful content.
  • Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling abilities across print, digital, and video formats.
  • Experience leading internal cultural change initiatives.
  • Expertise in launching communications strategies that boost visibility and credibility.
  • Excellent project management skills, capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • A passion for storytelling and a commitment to making a positive global impact.
  • Analytical acumen, with a knack for using data to optimize content effectiveness.
