About the position

Excel Sports Management is seeking an experienced Director of Brand Marketing to provide comprehensive support to a key corporate client in their sponsorship and sports marketing investments. This role involves strategy development, negotiation, activation, implementation, event management, and measurement, with a focus on talent marketing and managing key talent-related events.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the day-to-day management of Excel's Brand Marketing client's sponsorship activation and marketing initiatives, focusing on talent/influencer strategy, acquisition, and management.
  • Build and maintain positive client relationships that enhance partnerships and increase opportunities for Excel.
  • Interact daily with clients and appropriate agencies/properties to manage sponsorship programming initiatives.
  • Lead the direction and development of integrated marketing strategies, including creative platforms and new consumer engagement activations.
  • Provide portfolio analysis, identifying relevant opportunities that yield strategic recommendations for clients.
  • Lead the development and implementation of a talent/influencer strategy for the client.
  • Oversee the creation and implementation of materials supporting individual sponsorship initiatives, including marketing activation presentations.
  • Build, sustain, manage, and reconcile budgets, providing client budget updates throughout the process.
  • Manage direct reports, ensuring flawless client service and a superior agency experience.
  • Conduct research, analysis, and provide recommendations to support client goals.
  • Manage internal resources and vendors to ensure high standards of work are consistently delivered.
  • Attend and participate in staff events, which may include some nights and weekends.
  • Travel to client events as necessary.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • 8+ years of direct experience in sponsorship marketing or brand marketing strategy and activation at a brand, property, or agency.
  • Experience developing and implementing talent or influencer marketing strategies and activations on behalf of clients or companies.
  • Sports marketing and agency experience managing day-to-day relationships with clients, agencies, and partners.
