About the position

The Director of Brand Marketing at MGA Entertainment is a strategic leader responsible for driving brand performance and growth within the Preschool segment. This role involves managing a portfolio of brands, leading marketing initiatives, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to create engaging consumer experiences. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in brand management, team leadership, and innovative marketing strategies to enhance brand equity and market share.

Responsibilities

  • Manage teams that own a portfolio of multiple brands and oversee brand lifecycle stages.
  • Drive the seasonal brand planning process, including product wave planning and competitive data analysis.
  • Ensure brand integrity and alignment across product, packaging, and marketing communications.
  • Deliver compelling brand messages and present to internal and external stakeholders, including upper management.
  • Lead 360-marketing strategies and manage tactical triggers to drive consumer demand.
  • Own relationships with content creation teams for marketing execution.
  • Support Sales and Retail Marketing for key account activations.
  • Conduct category analysis and maintain expertise in Girls toy categories.
  • Manage brand financials, including inventory and forecasts, to influence executive decision-making.
  • Lead cross-functional teams on business initiatives and educate them on brand information.
  • Mentor and develop direct reports, promoting from within.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or related discipline; MBA preferred.
  • 15+ years of brand management and/or marketing agency experience.
  • 10+ years of team leadership and management experience, with a track record of leading teams of 3-5+ direct reports.
  • Experience in 360° campaigns, including TV, digital, social, PR, and retail.
  • Proven experience in new product innovations and brand lifecycle management.
  • Strong knowledge of the retail industry and retail math, with mass market experience.
  • Experience in kids and/or family marketing, toy industry, or quick-turn fashion.
