About the position

The Director of Analytics at Community Health Choice is responsible for leading the Analytics team, focusing on the development and implementation of data-driven strategies to enhance clinical outcomes and operational excellence. This role involves collaboration with various departments to leverage data for decision-making and to promote a data-driven culture within the organization. The Director will oversee data collection, analysis, and presentation, ensuring that insights are effectively communicated to stakeholders, including C-Suite executives.

Responsibilities

  • Manage deliverables for the Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) and Texas Department of Insurance (TDI), ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
  • Provide technical expertise in data querying, interpretation, and trend identification, delivering insights to all organizational levels.
  • Collect and analyze data to evaluate operational, financial, and health services implications.
  • Review data and reports, making conclusions and outlining additional information needed.
  • Mentor and lead staff in producing analytic summaries and visual presentations for various audiences.
  • Participate in Data Governance activities to foster a data-driven culture at CHC.
  • Establish, maintain, evaluate, and modify Key Performance Indicators (KPI) metrics aligned with strategic goals.
  • Collaborate with departments to enhance data usage and improve business processes.
  • Facilitate continuity in the Analytics Department through succession planning and professional development.
  • Contribute to departmental goals and process improvement plans as outlined in the annual business plan.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical, mathematics, research, analytical field, or related field; Master's preferred.
  • 7 years of experience in business performance reporting and data analysis.
  • 3 years of Managed Care and Medical claims experience preferred.
  • 4 years of management experience leading and managing teams.
  • Strong SQL skills and experience with SQL Server and Power BI.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, Outlook).
  • Knowledge of healthcare analytics and medical terminology.

  • Experience in healthcare finance and familiarity with medical coding.
  • Exceptional verbal communication skills, including public speaking.
  • Ability to teach and mentor employees for development and growth.
  • Strong planning and organizational skills.
