About the position

The Director of Business Intelligence & Data Analytics at Adidas is responsible for modernizing the company's use of sell-out data and analysis to enhance decision-making processes across the organization. This role focuses on delivering comprehensive business intelligence on sales performance, enabling data-driven decision-making, and fostering a culture of fact-based performance management. The director will lead a team to improve data quality, develop reporting structures, and identify opportunities for advanced analytics, ultimately driving business results in North America.

Responsibilities

  • Modernize the use of sell-out data and analysis across relevant processes and decisions.
  • Deliver a single source of omni brand and channels business intelligence on sales performance reporting and diagnosis.
  • Enable fact-based performance management and data-driven decision making to achieve business results.
  • Identify value-add opportunities for omni business performance insights through proactive dialogue with cross-functional business users.
  • Define timelines and cadences for business reporting in line with company data sharing principles.
  • Develop strategies and project plans for executing business requests.
  • Manage and improve data quality, coverage, timeliness, and governance with Tech and D&A teams.
  • Define key metrics and performance indicators with NAM SLT and business stakeholders.
  • Implement new reporting structures based on business KPIs and decision paths.
  • Communicate best practices to maximize the use of omni reporting and analytics capabilities.
  • Automate reporting using Power BI and other tools.
  • Provide data insights through data visualization and statistical analysis.
  • Identify big data needs and support global/local big data use cases.
  • Develop new reports and dashboards for key initiatives and projects.
  • Enhance the organization's overall data capabilities and use of data.
  • Advise stakeholders on analytics value and goal definition.
  • Ensure actionable recommendations are provided based on insights gathered.
  • Translate insights into engaging presentations for stakeholders.
  • Establish a strong stakeholder network to facilitate actionable insights.
  • Promote a fact-based culture by defining data-driven decision processes.
  • Lead and shape the data strategy for adidas NAM.
  • Collaborate with data providers and report users across the organization.
  • Build a structure to manage the organization effectively and develop future talents.
  • Monitor team workload and organizational efficiency, making necessary adjustments.
  • Provide clear direction and targets for team members aligned with business needs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Business, Computer Science, Statistics, Economics, Engineering, or a related quantitative field.
  • Ten (10) years of related work experience in Business Intelligence, Data Analytics, or Big Data.
  • Four (4) years of experience in leading a team.
  • Experience with a global consumer goods brand, modern retailer, or analytic consulting.
  • Experience working closely with middle and senior managers across functions.
  • Proficiency in database, statistical, and business intelligence systems, analytics tools such as Python, R, SAS, SPSS, MicroStrategy, Tableau, SQL, Google Analytics, or Adobe Analytics.
  • Experience with project management.
