The Director, Business Operations Program Lead COE will report to the Head of PDM Business Operations and will be part of the larger Pharmaceutical Development and Manufacturing (PDM) organization. This role is crucial for managing cross-functional non-product projects within PDM and establishing a Project Management Center of Excellence (COE) within the organization. The Business Operations Program Lead will develop strategies for identifying and collecting best practices and tools from across the PDM Project Management groups. This includes maintaining and enabling the use of consistent tools, templates, and methodologies across PDM, thereby bringing together the PDM PM community and reinforcing the links to the broader Gilead PM Community. Key responsibilities include identifying, developing, and maintaining PM tools that meet the needs of PDM's PMs, as well as collecting best practices from across the PDM PM groups. The lead will also be responsible for creating detailed work plans that identify and sequence the activities needed to successfully complete projects, as well as dashboards to provide visibility on project status, risks, and mitigations. In addition, the Director will collaborate with product and project teams to develop and report KPIs on a regular basis, monitor the progress of programs/projects, and make necessary adjustments to ensure successful completion. The role requires proactive communication with leadership regarding risks or deviations from approved plans and functioning as a facilitator between various teams to resolve conflicts as they arise. The ideal candidate will be well-versed in operational excellence methodologies and dedicated to delivering high-quality solutions, with the ability to create meaningful connections with PM groups outside of their team.
