About the position

The Director of Business Unit Communications at Teladoc Health is a senior individual contributor role focused on developing and implementing strategic communication plans for the US Group Health and Hospital and Health Services business units. This position is critical in shaping business narratives, managing change through effective messaging, and enhancing employee engagement. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in business communications, particularly within the healthcare sector, and will work closely with senior executives to promote brand awareness and support organizational objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute strategic communication plans to convey the organization's mission and key messages to internal audiences.
  • Lead the development of compelling content across various channels, including executive messages, blog posts, social media content, newsletters, and website copy.
  • Oversee employee communications efforts, cultivating relationships with executives and developing timely communications plans.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment of communication efforts with overall business goals.
  • Monitor market and industry trends, providing insights to inform communication strategies and messaging.
  • Manage internal aspects of crisis communication efforts, including developing communication protocols and preparing leadership messages.
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to the communications team, fostering a culture of excellence and collaboration.
  • Develop and manage communication budgets to support initiatives and objectives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in communications or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in business and employee communications, focusing on strategic communications planning and execution within the healthcare industry.
  • 8 years of experience developing and implementing successful communication strategies and employee campaigns.
  • Strong writing and editing skills, with the ability to craft clear, compelling messages for various audiences and channels.
