The Director of Campus Recreation at Robert Morris University (RMU) is tasked with the comprehensive management and administration of all campus recreation program areas, ensuring they meet the needs and interests of the university's students. This pivotal role involves leading dynamic, innovative, and collaborative initiatives that encompass a robust club sports program, fitness and wellness programs, intramurals, esports, and other emerging activities. The Director is responsible for providing professional guidance and supervision to a dedicated team of four full-time staff members, while also overseeing a network of over 20 head and assistant club sport coaches. Additionally, the Director supervises approximately 70 student staff members across various program areas, ensuring effective training and development initiatives that foster transferable life and career skills through their involvement in Campus Recreation. In this leadership position, the Director plays a crucial role in recruitment and retention of club sport athletes, supports student wellness, and contributes to creating a vibrant student experience. Essential competencies for this role include programming, strategic planning and execution, leadership, fiscal management, risk management, marketing and promotions, administration, scheduling, supervision, event and facility management, and day-to-day program operations. The Director is also responsible for overseeing the daily operation of the Student Recreation Center, managing budgets for all intramural and club sports activities, and ensuring compliance with academic eligibility for participants.
