About the position

The Director, Carrier Gateway Product Marketing at Qualcomm Technologies, Inc. will be responsible for owning the Carrier Gateway strategy across the North American region. This role requires a product expert who will collaborate closely with North American Carrier account owners and the Business Unit to manage and grow carrier revenue for Qualcomm's Connectivity and Broadband Networking business. The focus will be on Telecom, Cable, and fixed wireless broadband companies, with a specific emphasis on business development for silicon and software products that support Wi-Fi, PON, 5G/Fixed Wireless, Network Processors, Ethernet, and Bluetooth/15.4 ICs. The successful candidate will create and execute the North American Carrier Business Development strategy across the ecosystem, which includes Carriers, ISPs, and OEMs. In this role, the Director will build and manage relationships at all levels within the ecosystem, including Carrier business development and technical teams, as well as their leadership. The position involves interfacing with product management, engineering development, procurement, and supply chain teams to promote and create demand for Qualcomm products. Key responsibilities include introducing and selling Qualcomm's portfolio of products to Carriers, broadband ISPs, and OEM partners to secure design wins. The Director will also develop a comprehensive multi-year business strategy to drive strong growth, cultivate a partner ecosystem to provide solutions for Carrier Broadband, and manage account priorities and go-to-market strategies while driving engagement. Additionally, the role requires identifying upcoming RFPs and seeding features into requirements, as well as gathering Carrier features to drive into the Business Unit product roadmap to meet Carrier and market needs.

Responsibilities

  • Build and manage relationships at all levels in the ecosystem, including Carrier BD/technical teams and their leadership teams.
  • Interface with product management, engineering development, procurement, and supply chain teams to promote and create demand for Qualcomm products.
  • Introduce and sell Qualcomm's portfolio of products to Carriers, broadband ISPs, and OEM partners to secure design wins.
  • Evangelize Qualcomm broadband products at Carriers and ISPs.
  • Develop a comprehensive multi-year business strategy to drive strong growth.
  • Cultivate a partner ecosystem to provide solutions for Carrier Broadband.
  • Drive business strategy for NA Carriers holistically in close collaboration with Business Units and direct OEM account sales.
  • Manage account priorities and go-to-market strategies and drive engagement.
  • Identify upcoming RFPs and seed features into requirements.
  • Gather Carrier features to drive into Business Unit product roadmap to meet Carrier and market needs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and 8+ years of Product Marketing, Marketing, Business, Engineering, Communications, or related work experience.
  • OR Associate's degree or equivalent degree and 10+ years of Product Marketing, Marketing, Business, Engineering, Communications, or related work experience.
  • OR High school Diploma or equivalent and 12+ years of Product Marketing, Marketing, Business, Engineering, Communications, or related work experience.
  • Completed advanced degrees in a relevant field may be substituted for up to two years (Master's = one year, Doctorate = two years) of work experience.
  • Extensive experience and contacts with North American Carriers & broadband ISPs.
  • Experience developing relationships at large, complex organizations globally.
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, technology or related business field.
  • 10+ years in business development, sales, product marketing or related work experience.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's degree in business or technology preferred.
  • 15+ years in business development, sales, product marketing, or product management in the Telco and broadband ISP industry.
  • Experience at a semiconductor company with wireless communications products.
  • Demonstrated strong broadband product and technology knowledge.
  • Broadband internet Product / Engineering background in addition to strong business development skills.
  • Experience with the networking Customer Premise Equipment ecosystem and understanding of the big picture for broadband internet services.
  • Demonstrated ability to shape customer requirements and position solutions to capture the opportunity.
  • Strategic account management expertise and the ability to manage change.
