About The Position

The Director of Category Management at Juul Labs is responsible for providing strategic leadership to the Category Management team, driving performance to achieve the organization's strategic objectives. This role involves developing and communicating sales insights, analysis, and tools to support the Strategic Retail sales team, with a focus on the U.S. Convenience Store market. The Director will lead a team of category managers, ensuring the effective use of sales analysis tools and insights to increase sales and profitability while driving sustainable growth.

Requirements

  • 7-10 years of general sales, marketing, and distribution experience in a fast-paced consumer goods environment.
  • 5+ years of experience analyzing data or insights to determine industry and consumer trends.
  • Deep knowledge of sales/category management tools and processes.
  • Strong analytical and strategic communication skills.
  • High level understanding of the retail environment, particularly Convenience Stores.
  • Solid leadership abilities and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong interpersonal relationship-building skills with cross-functional teams and customers.
  • Ability to develop insights from consumer research and retail analysis.
  • Experience in developing short and long-term business plans.
  • Advanced proficiency in computer software including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint; VBA is a plus.
  • Familiarity with syndicated data and space planning tools such as Nielsen and JDA.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in the consumer goods industry specifically related to convenience stores.
  • Familiarity with demographic data and retail analysis tools.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the Category Management team to develop and communicate sales insights and analysis.
  • Design and ensure the proper use of sales tools by retail teams and convenience retail partners.
  • Support the Strategic Sales team to increase sales and profitability.
  • Develop, train, and lead a team of category managers.
  • Evaluate retailer programs and measure key performance indicators.
  • Own the process from insight development to communication for retailer-facing tools and analysis.
  • Direct and perform analysis completed by the Category Management team for the Strategic Sales team.
