About the position

The Director, Center for Advanced Manufacturing at the Massachusetts Technology Collaborative (MassTech) is responsible for leading efforts to enhance the Advanced Manufacturing technology and innovation ecosystem in Massachusetts. This role involves managing a portfolio of programs aimed at fostering a connected manufacturing ecosystem, overseeing personnel and activities, and collaborating with various stakeholders to strengthen the manufacturing sector's competitiveness.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the Advanced Manufacturing portfolio of work at MassTech.
  • Manage and execute state and federally funded technology, innovation, education, and workforce development programs.
  • Engage with stakeholders including research institutions, manufacturers, and state officials to activate the manufacturing ecosystem.
  • Develop and adjust the vision and mission for the Center for Advanced Manufacturing (CAM) based on ecosystem needs.
  • Explore grant funding opportunities aligned with CAM's mission.
  • Create and deliver presentations to stakeholders and public events.

Requirements

  • Ten or more years of experience in positions of increasing responsibility.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment or hard/tough tech industry preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with a variety of professionals.
  • Supervisory experience and data-driven decision making.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience funding/managing external research or projects with academia and startups.
  • Successful track record of state, federal, or foundation grant proposal development and awards.
