About the position

The Director, Center for Advanced Manufacturing, is responsible for leading the Massachusetts Technology Collaborative's (MassTech) efforts to enhance the Advanced Manufacturing technology and innovation ecosystem, manufacturing and supply chain base, and talent pipeline across Massachusetts. This role involves managing personnel and activities related to state and federally funded programs, collaborating with various stakeholders, and actively engaging the ecosystem through events and initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Advanced Manufacturing portfolio of work at MassTech.
• Manage and execute state and federally funded technology, innovation, education, and workforce development programs.
• Collaborate with Mass Tech leadership and staff, and various stakeholders including research institutions and manufacturers.
• Engage the ecosystem through events, site visits, and roundtables.
• Develop and adjust the vision and mission for CAM based on ecosystem needs and resources.
• Explore grant funding opportunities aligned with CAM's mission.
• Lead and develop a diverse team from industry, education, and manufacturing.

Requirements

• Ten or more years of experience in positions of increasing responsibility.
• Experience in a manufacturing environment or hard/tough tech industry preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and effectively with a wide variety of professionals.
• Supervisory experience and data-driven decision making.
• Experience in event planning and internal/external communications.

Nice-to-haves

• Current knowledge of the Massachusetts Advanced Manufacturing ecosystem.
• Familiarity with public-private partnerships such as Manufacturing USA Institutes.
• Experience funding/managing external research or projects with academia and startups.
• Successful track record of state, federal, or foundation grant proposal development and awards.
