The University at Buffalo School of Management is seeking a Director for its newly established Center for Supply Chain Analytics. This pivotal role involves collaborating closely with the faculty director to enhance the center's mission, research initiatives, and overall reputation. The Director will leverage the strategic excellence of the UB School of Management in thought leadership and transformative education to create impactful partnerships with faculty, leadership, and both internal and external stakeholders. Success in this position will be measured by the ability to consolidate operational insights into key initiatives that drive the center's objectives. A significant aspect of the Director's role will be to connect the faculty's supply chain analytics capabilities with economic development impacts, particularly in relation to the NY SMART I-Corridor Tech Hub initiative. This initiative includes the Supply Chain Activation Network (SCAN), which aims to bolster U.S. semiconductor production and diversify the regional manufacturing base by increasing the number and diversity of firms within the semiconductor supply chain. The Director will be responsible for providing operational coordination across various collaborative entities, including UB's faculty, research administration, Economic Development Organizations (EDOs), Manufacturing Extension Partnership organizations (MEPs), industry partners, and public sector entities. The Director will lead the development and implementation of a comprehensive strategy for the center, manage engagement for the SCAN project, oversee outreach efforts, and cultivate relationships with stakeholders. Additionally, the Director will organize events and conferences to connect thought leaders, industry experts, and students around emerging trends in supply chain analytics. Ensuring the fiscal and operational soundness of the center will also be a key responsibility, which includes managing planning, budgeting, and staff oversight. The Director will engage the school's faculty, students, and other stakeholders in the center's activities and work with marketing and communications staff to promote the center through various integrated strategies.
