About the position

The Director, CEO Communications at Okta will lead all aspects of communications for the CEO, Todd McKinnon. This strategic role involves crafting and amplifying the CEO's voice, managing both internal and external communications, and ensuring impactful messaging that aligns with Okta's corporate narrative and business priorities. The position requires a deep understanding of the market and meticulous execution to drive thought leadership and visibility for the CEO.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute a communication strategy that defines and strengthens Okta's CEO's voice.
• Position Okta's CEO as an industry leader by crafting high-impact content such as keynotes, blogs, and social media posts.
• Oversee messaging for key audiences including employees, customers, investors, and media.
• Create compelling content for internal and external events, earnings calls, and press engagements.
• Proactively identify and mitigate communication risks while handling sensitive issues confidentially.
• Build and maintain relationships with Okta's executive leadership team to inform CEO communications strategy.

Requirements

• 10-15+ years of relevant communications experience, particularly with CEO thought leadership.
• Experience writing for and working directly with CEOs and C-level executives.
• Understanding of Okta's business and competitors, especially in cloud and SaaS.
• Social media experience with an analytical approach to trending topics.
• Strong writing and editing skills with a clear writing style.
• Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple high-profile projects.
