About the position

The Director of CEO Communications at Okta is a strategic role responsible for leading all aspects of communications for the CEO, Todd McKinnon. This position involves crafting and amplifying the CEO's voice, managing both internal and external communications, and ensuring impactful messaging that aligns with Okta's corporate narrative and business priorities. The role requires a deep understanding of the market and Okta's objectives, along with meticulous execution and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a communication strategy that defines and strengthens Okta's CEO's voice.
  • Position Okta's CEO as an industry leader by crafting high-impact content, including keynotes, blogs, and public-facing materials.
  • Oversee messaging for key audiences to drive Okta's brand and ensure alignment with business priorities.
  • Create compelling content for internal and external events, earnings, and press engagements.
  • Proactively identify and mitigate communication risks while handling sensitive issues with confidentiality.
  • Build and maintain relationships with Okta's executive leadership team to inform CEO communications strategy.

Requirements

  • 10-15+ years of relevant communications experience, ideally with CEO thought leadership.
  • Experience writing for and working directly with CEOs and C-level executives.
  • Understanding of Okta's business and competitors, particularly in cloud and SaaS.
  • Social media experience with an analytical approach to trending topics.
  • Strong writing and editing skills with a clear writing style.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple high-profile projects.
