About the position

The Director - Change Delivery Manager will lead the Change Management team, which is engaged by the Capital Markets and Banking businesses to manage large-scale or complex business initiatives. This role is pivotal in building and maintaining a high-functioning internal consulting group that serves as an alternative to external consulting firms, which are often brought in at short notice. By utilizing this internal team, the organization aims to reduce consulting expenditures and preserve institutional knowledge that is typically lost at the conclusion of projects when external consultants are engaged. In this senior role, the Director will be responsible for assembling a team of 12 skilled professionals who can effectively meet the consulting needs of the business. This involves identifying the optimal skill set required for the team, which includes a mix of Program/Project Management skills and expertise in areas such as Regulatory, Fixed Income, and Equities. The Director will also be tasked with hiring suitable candidates, with an expectation of 10-12 hires in the first year. The Director will work closely with the Capital Markets and Banking business areas to build an initial book of work for the team and will actively manage the team on a day-to-day basis, ensuring they are assigned to high-profile business projects that would typically be handled by a “big-4” consulting firm. This role requires regular interaction with business stakeholders to stay informed about upcoming needs and to monitor the effectiveness of the team through regular reporting on delivery against targets and cost savings achieved through reduced external consulting spend. The position encompasses responsibilities across Capital Markets, Regulatory Reform, and Banking, necessitating a background that spans both IT and business. The Director will act as a role model, leading a global team and demonstrating strong leadership and communication skills. They will be responsible for deploying the Program Management framework and instilling good program disciplines within their program and across Global Change Delivery and the Group. The role includes end-to-end responsibility for all aspects of the program, including definition, execution control, change management, and implementation, as well as ensuring effective handover to the business to support benefits realization. As a member of the Global Change Delivery management team, the Director will also have line management responsibilities for a group of more junior resources within their resource pool. This role is critical in defining the shape and structure of change initiatives, engaging stakeholders, managing program plans, and ensuring that business benefits are realized through effective change management processes.
