About the position

The Director, Chief of Staff is a pivotal role that supports senior leadership within the Enterprise Consumer Products Tech (ECPT) organization at Capital One. This position is responsible for enabling leaders to execute strategic initiatives while ensuring operational excellence. The Chief of Staff will partner closely with the Managing Vice President and oversee key areas such as strategy, operational excellence, organizational culture, and communications, all aimed at driving growth and innovation across the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a strategic thought partner for the ECPT leadership team, guiding operations and management.
  • Act as a central point of contact between the ECPT leadership team and other key partners to ensure alignment.
  • Create and manage agendas for various leadership meetings and sessions.
  • Develop talking points for key leaders for all hands meetings and AMA sessions.
  • Prioritize key areas for leaders, aiding in strategic planning and uncovering efficiencies.
  • Lead the leadership team in driving and tracking organizational goals and priorities.
  • Assist with strategic planning in collaboration with key partners.
  • Create and manage effective processes to drive operational excellence.
  • Coordinate with product and business teams to align operations with strategy.
  • Work with the communications team to deliver key messages to internal and external audiences.
  • Develop relationships within the team to act as a sounding board and thought partner.
  • Focus on improving organizational culture and engagement.
  • Coordinate associate engagement activities in partnership with relevant teams.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree
  • At least 7 years of experience in Project Management, Process Management, or Program Management
  • At least 4 years of experience working with cross-functional teams
  • At least 3 years of experience managing executive level stakeholders across different business functions
  • At least 3 years of experience partnering with engineering teams

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's degree in Organizational Management or STEM-related field
  • 5+ years of experience in people management
  • 3+ years of experience in strategy development
  • 3+ years of experience in budgeting and labor strategy
  • 3+ years of experience driving organizational change and operational excellence
