About the position

The Director, Climate Risk at Montrose Environmental Group plays a pivotal role in enhancing the services offered to clients through the Sustainability and Climate Advisory (SCA) team. This position is designed for individuals who have extensive experience advising companies on the implementation of the Task Force on Climate-Related Financial Disclosures (TCFD) recommendations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in identifying climate-related risks, both physical and transitional, and assessing their business and financial impacts through scenario analysis. This role requires the development of processes for identifying, assessing, and managing climate-related risks, integrating them into the overall corporate risk management framework for clients, and establishing governance around climate risk. As climate risks become increasingly critical for businesses, the Director will collaborate closely with the VP of Sustainability and Climate Advisory and the SCA team to develop, market, and deliver climate risk services and solutions. This position encompasses a blend of business development, service development, project management, and staff development. The Director will engage directly with clients and lead a dedicated team of environmental sustainability professionals. Candidates should possess at least 10 years of relevant experience, particularly in sustainability and climate consulting for industrial sectors such as oil and gas, chemicals, power, and manufacturing. A key aspect of this role is the ability to sell climate risk services and expand the service line effectively. Montrose Environmental Group is committed to its principles of valuing people, community, clients, and shareholders. The company offers competitive compensation packages, flexible work locations, and a range of benefits designed to support the well-being of its employees. The Director will be responsible for a variety of activities, including developing new business through existing client relationships, supporting the development of climate risk services, managing project teams, leading proposal development, and providing coaching and training to team members. Additionally, the Director will work closely with other teams to identify synergies and develop client opportunities, while staying informed about climate and sustainability trends, frameworks, and regulations.
