About the position

The Director of Cloud Center of Excellence at Celanese is a leadership role focused on driving the company's Cloud First strategy through the management of the Microsoft Azure practice. This position involves supervising Enterprise Architects, ensuring cloud technology is secure and up-to-date, and maintaining financial transparency regarding cloud costs. The director will also define processes for cloud operations and collaborate with various teams to optimize cloud services and costs.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the Microsoft Azure practice supporting the Cloud First strategy.
  • Supervise Enterprise Architects to drive cloud adoption and extend the cloud operating model.
  • Keep cloud technology secure and up-to-date with the latest standards.
  • Ensure cost transparency across Cloud services and Infrastructure OnPrem technology.
  • Provide regular reporting on cloud costs and optimize Azure workloads.
  • Define and own processes for running Cloud Operations with external service providers.
  • Collaborate with peers to schedule resources and manage multiple projects.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of related work experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in IT or a related field.
  • Strong experience with the Microsoft Azure platform and global support services.
  • Experience with financials, Azure cost model, and cost charge-out processes.
  • Experience supervising Enterprise Architects.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with SAP or Non-SAP applications delivery and support.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft O365 and Active Directory.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Licensing, AWS, Google Cloud, and IBM Cloud.
