About the position

The Director, Commercial Group Markets at Blue Cross of Idaho is responsible for leading the profit and loss (P&L) of the Commercial Group Market Segment, which includes small, medium, and large group insurance products. This role focuses on driving product development, innovation, and implementation strategies to achieve financial and operational goals, generating over $600 million in revenue. The position requires collaboration with internal partners and the ability to analyze financial data to enhance product offerings and market strategies.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the profit and loss (P&L) for the Commercial Group Market Segment.
  • Drive improvements in products and services and develop go-to-market strategies.
  • Analyze and interpret financial data, including profit and loss statements and cost trends.
  • Develop and implement strategies for profitable membership growth.
  • Establish processes and policies to achieve company goals while maintaining margins and membership targets.
  • Conduct market research and monitor sales performance to optimize product marketing.
  • Prepare membership forecasts and budgets, monitoring sales volume and revenues against forecasts.
  • Liaise with marketing to provide effective sales and educational collateral.
  • Identify strategic opportunities for growth and retention in group market segments.
  • Direct and refine mechanisms for collecting and analyzing competitive data.

Requirements

  • Ten years of experience in healthcare with P&L responsibility for group sales or related areas.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Healthcare Administration, or Sales preferred; equivalent work experience may be considered.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's degree in Business or related field.
  • Specific knowledge of group health insurance market plans (fully-insured and self-funded).
