About the position

The Director, Commercial Group Markets at Blue Cross of Idaho is responsible for leading the profit and loss (P&L) of the Commercial Group Market Segment. This role involves driving the development, innovation, implementation, and administration of various group market products, including small, medium, and large group plans. The director will work to improve products and services, develop go-to-market strategies, and lead initiatives to meet financial and operational goals for a segment generating over $600 million in revenue.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the profit and loss (P&L) for the Commercial Group Market Segment.
  • Drive improvements in products and services and develop go-to-market strategies.
  • Analyze and interpret financial data, including profit and loss statements and cost trends.
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships at all levels within the organization.
  • Implement and achieve business strategies for all lines in the commercial group market segment.
  • Conduct market research and monitor sales performance to optimize marketing strategies.
  • Prepare membership forecasts and budgets, monitoring sales volume and revenues against forecasts.
  • Identify strategic opportunities for growth and retention in group market segments.
  • Establish operational efficiencies through process improvements and self-service tools.
  • Liaise with marketing to provide sales and educational collateral.

Requirements

  • Ten (10) years of experience in healthcare with P&L responsibility for group sales or related areas.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Healthcare Administration, or Sales preferred; equivalent work experience may be considered.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's degree in Business or related field.
  • Specific knowledge of group health insurance market plans (both fully-insured and self-funded).
